Give Child Party Packs or Birthday Bags, New Baby or Senior Birthday Bags

Looking for a community service project for your business, scout troop, church group or school group? Would you like to find a meaningful and fun project to do with your children or grandchildren? Are you a teenager who’d like to help low income children, new moms or seniors? Everyone can participate in one of our “Bag” projects!

Groups and individuals can assemble these bags and bring them to the Pantry or donate the items that fill the bags.

Here’s How it Works:

Child Party Packs and Birthday Bags:

The Pantry helps families and kids celebrate the birthdays of children ages three to twelve. We provide a Party Pack that is filled with the items for a fun family party and a Birthday Bag with gifts for the child.

Party Packs If you would like to make Party Packs, shop for items to help a family celebrate and deliver the bags or the supplies to the pantry. Suggested items include:

  • Cake mix
  • Icing
  • Birthday cake candles
  • Paper plates and napkins for eight to ten people
  • Decorating item such as a banner, crepe paper streamers or balloons
  • One or two other party supplies such as a table covering, cups, blowing toys or hats

Birthday Bags
If you would like to contribute a Birthday Bag(s) then pick an age for whom you wouldlike to make one ormore Birthday Bags. Then, shop for the items you think a child will enjoy. Finally, assemble the bag or bags and deliver them to the Pantry.

RECOMMENDED CONTENTS INCLUDE:

  • One larger toy. This varies widely. It’s better if it does not need batteries or internet connection and is not war or gun related. Otherwise just about anything goes! Some examples are: board games, Lego or other construction toys, dolls, soccer balls, action figures, science kits, art or craft kits, Melissa and Doug items, building blocks, anything Paw Patrol or whatever is popular, trucks, cars and dinosaurs.
  • Two or three smaller toys. Examples: jump rope, stick-on tattoos, play dough, card game, puzzle, bouncy ball, stickers, glow sticks, stuffed animal, pencils, etc.
  • Age appropriate book Note: There is not a specific bag size. All items should be new.

New Baby Bags:

When a baby is born to a Pantry family,we like to help welcome the child with a New Baby Bag. Shop for the items you wish to include that a new mom and new baby will want or need. Assemble the bag or bags and deliver them to the Pantry.

  • Small baby toy or board book
  • Baby hygiene products such as: wash, lotion, shampoo and diaper rash cream

Note: The pantry will supply diapers, wipes and formula when requested by the family so these items need not be included. We request that all items be new.
